Q: I am interested in coming. What can I expect?
A: The day is structured in three parts.  Golf and tennis are offered during the day at Cherry Valley for both men and women and a dinner for the non-golfer/tennis friends and family to join in the evening.  There is something for everyone that is associated with St. Joseph’s and represents the capstone celebration for the school for the year.  We also generally have a number of invited guests that support the school through golf and tennis and/or dinner.
Cocktails and dinner at night is intended for the golfer/tennis player and also spouses to join that may not have played.  In addition, there are a number of silent auction and raffles to win include a wide array of prizes that have included assorted baskets of cheer, golf and tennis items and lessons.  Prizes in the silent auction can include tickets to sporting events, restaurants, vacation getaways, and golf and tennis outings.
The schedule of events is: Registration: 10am-12:15pm, Brunch: 10:30am-12:15pm, Tee-off: 12:30pm, 2:15: Tennis Registration and Refreshments, 3-5pm Tennis Round Robin and Clinics, Cocktails: 6pm-7pm, Dinner: 7-9pm

Q: How much are tickets and how can they be purchased?
A: Tickets are offered by mail and online.  Golfers are $425 per person or $1,700 for foursome.  Tennis tickets are $225 per person, which includes Lunch/Cocktails/Dinner, OR, $150 per person for Tennis and Lunch only. Dinner guests that have not golfed or played tennis can join the event for $130 per person. If ordering online, purchase them by clicking here and using the St. Joseph PTA online payment system.  Payment is also accepted by sending a check to the school made payable to St. Joseph School PTA. Please place the check in an envelope to be delivered to the Office marked to the attention of Victoria Spinelli or by mail to St. Joseph School, 450 Franklin Avenue, Garden City, New York, 11530. 

Q: Who can play golf and tennis?
A: All Ladies and Gentlemen including School Parents, Alumni, Alumni Parents, Clients and all Friends of St. Joseph School.  All levels of play are welcome. It is a great venue for entertaining clients.

Q: Can I pay at the door?
A: For planning purposes, advance payment is greatly appreciated by mail or online.

Q: Where is the event and what is the dress code?
A: Answer: The event is once again being hosted by Cherry Valley Club located in Garden City.  Proper attire is required; check the Cherry Valley website for further dress code requirements.

Q: Is there assigned seating at dinner?
A: There is no assigned seating at dinner. Come to mix, mingle and enjoy!

Q: How much are raffles?
A:   Raffle packages can be purchased at the event individually or in package “sweetheart deals” will be sold in the morning and during the evening.  

Q. What is the significance of naming an honoree?
A: In 2011, the St. Joseph School Father Association selected its first recipient for the SJS Person of the Year award. The award is bestowed each year to an individual(s) making an extreme impact on the lives of our Catholic School students extending over a significant period of time. Fr. Joseph Schlafer was our first honoree, followed by Dorry Thompsett in 2012, Frank and Maureen Liantonio in 2013, Kathleen Noonan in 2014, Dr. Eileen T. Kilbride in 2015,  John McKay in 2016, Dr. Paul and Jeannie Callahan in 2017, Brian Shea in 2018, and now Irena & Mike McCarthy in 2019.

10:30am: Breakfast/Brunch/Driving Range/$10K putting contest
10:30am: Tennis Registration
        11:00am: Tennis Round Robin/Pro Instruction and Clinics 
12:30pm: Golf Shotgun Start
1:00pm: Tennis Lunch-Refreshments
(Tennis attire must be all white apparel including hats, sneakers, and wristbands. Warm up clothes may be any color.)
5:30pm: Cocktails, 10K Putt (Finals), Dinner and Awards Ceremony
